The Details:
A mechanically original 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 sold with a reported full service history care of Porsche technicians, and benefitting from a recent engine and gearbox rebuild and significant aesthetic restoration completed in 2022.
Originally delivered into the UK, this 911 is understood to retain its original matching numbers 3.2-litre aircooled flat-six boxer and five-speed manual transmission, which have just undergone an engine and gearbox rebuild completed by David Cavaco of Cavaco Motors Kirrawee. Amongst other things, piston kits, injectors, clutch, gears, linkages, fuel pump hoses and sensors were replaced with new parts. A new factory exhaust has also been installed.
Paintwork is in exceptional condition, following significant restoration completed in 2022, with the seller reporting that the vehicle has only been driven once since. All body panels, lights, doors, the windscreen, engine, clutch and gearbox were removed and a full respray completed. Sill panels, kidney bowels, inner guards, headlight buckets, door, bonnet, rear guard and window seals, and the door handles were replaced, as were the front and rear bonnet struts.
The black leather interior is reported to be in excellent condition. This vehicle was ordered new with electric seats and headlight washers, radio/cassette player and electric sunroof. While the radio/cassette player is original, new speakers have been installed.
Cavaco Motors serviced the 911 on March 9, 2026, just days ahead of auction. New Pirelli P-Zero tyres have been fit. All electronics are reported to be working correctly, and the wiring work for the lights and instrument panel has been refreshed.
The car will be sold with all logbooks documenting its full service history by Porsche technicians and receipts dating back to new are available. It is currently registered on NSW historic registration through the Porsche Club of New South Wales, which cannot be transferred to a new owner.
Reported to have always been garaged and maintained through its life, and with several concours d’elegance placings to its name, this 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 is an exceptional example of the highly desirable classic 911. It benefits from an extensive engine rebuild and panels-off respray, with the only thing left to do being enjoy it.
