The Details:

This 1966 Ford Falcon Futura Sports Coupe is a thoroughly developed street machine with all the work done but to enjoy it.

Built in Ford’s Kansas City plant in November 1966 and originally equipped with a 289ci two-barrel V8 and four-speed manual transmission, this Futura has come a long way from its humble origins. It has been reimagined both mechanically and aesthetically, now presented in right-hand drive wearing a striking orange finish with a contrasting black vinyl roof and ‘347’ decals, riding American Racing wheels.

Even more striking is the work done in the engine bay. The car is now powered by a 347 Windsor ‘stroker’ small block V8 equipped with 8-stack fuel injection, controlled by a FAST XFI Sportsman ECU and supported by MSD ignition. The fuel system comprises a custom aluminium fuel tank, surge tank with two fuel pumps and return fuel system.

The transmission is a C4 forward-pattern manualised automatic operated by a B&M shifter and paired with a Positraction limited-slip differential.

The handling package includes four-link suspension with adjustable coil over shocks at the rear, Rod Shop independent front suspension with adjustable coil overs at the front and torque box connectors. 

Willwood disc brakes have been fitted all around, with a Hydroboost brake booster mounted under the dash and an electronic park brake fitted. Power rack and pinion steering completes the package.

The custom interior features a recon dash pad, new perforated headliner and sun visors, power front windows and air conditioning, Dakota Digital gauges and an upgraded stereo system with Grundig head unit, four interior speakers and two 10-inch subwoofers in the boot. Dynamat sound deadening has been installed throughout.

A thoroughly considered and well executed performance street machine, this 1966 Ford Falcon Futura Sports Coupe is sure to turn heads wherever it goes, although you’ll probably be having too much fun to notice.
