The Details:

Arriving for the 2020 model year, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 offered a naturally aspirated, manual Porsche that eschewed the trend towards digitisation and insulation to produce a driver’s car that was as refreshingly analogue as it was ferociously capable.

The headliners are, of course, that naturally aspirated Type MA2.75 engine and the sublimely tuned and tactile manual gearbox. The mid-mounted 4.0-litre flat six is derived from the unit found in the 992-generation 911, with a bigger bore and stroke, higher compression and significantly redesigned internals. This is mated with a six-speed manual transmission, which can blip the throttle for you on a downshift if you’d like, and is paired with a mechanical locking rear differential.

There are no steering wheel-engaged engine settings, or steering wheel buttons at all for that matter, however the suspension is adjustable, allowing you to adjust settings for toe, camber and anti-roll bars. The split dual pipe exhaust allows for a large rear diffuser, and can be subdued or unleashed with the push of a button.

Finished in Racing Yellow, the GT4 wears a signature motorsport-derived aero package, sporting a big rear wing and low front spoiler, as well as a rear ducktail, NACA inlets and the aforementioned diffuser. It rides 20-inch Satin Platinum wheels shod in correct Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. With its aero package, the car is able to generate 72 kilograms of downforce should you spool it up to 200 km/h.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara and benefits from the extended carbon fibre trim package, also featuring contrasting yellow stitching. Amongst other factory standard equipment, this car is equipped with Adaptive Sports Seats Plus, Alcantara steering wheel and shifter, dash-mounted Sport Chrono clock, dual-zone climate control, Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and GT4-engraved sill plates.

This 2020 model year example was built in August 2019 and delivered in February 2020, travelling just 16,900 kilometers since then. It will be accompanied by a partial service history, its Porsche leather compendium containing all original books, as well as two original keys and a bespoke Racing Yellow car cover.

Porsche Centre Perth completed a major service and inspection in December 2025 at 15,891 km to satisfy requirements for the extended factory warranty, which the seller reports is valid to 23 February 2027. A standard service was completed by Porsche Centre Perth in February 2025 at 14,188 km.

While it may be positioned as the entry point to the marque’s world beating GT road cars, on the road the 718 Cayman GT4 presents as anything but. Offering enough by way of modern creature comforts while still presenting a very analogue, pure driving experience, it’s a highlight of Porsche’s modern efforts, and one well worth experiencing.
