Finished in desirable Solarbeam Yellow, this 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT is a striking, gently modified example of the marque’s landmark sportscar.

Developed as the successor to the SLS AMG and aimed fairly squarely at the Porsche 911 and Audi R8, the AMG GT combined a front-mid-mounted 4.0-litre M178 biturbo V8 with a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transaxle and rear-wheel drive.

In standard GT specification, the model was factory-rated at 340 kW and 600 Nm. This car, however, has seen some gentle massaging in the form of a stage two dyno tune, stainless steel turbo-back bi-modal race exhaust, BMC air filters and E63 spark plugs. The transmission is also understood to have been tuned, which is probably a good thing as the car is now reported to produce 542 horsepower and 850 Nm at the wheels, which would put it well on the way to matching an AMG GT in ‘R’ trim.

Finished in Solarbeam Yellow over a black interior, this car features some customisations, including tinted windows, carbon fibre steering wheel with integrated light-up RPM gauge and speedometer, upgraded front grille and GT R-style rear badging. The car is also reported to sit on lowering springs, with wheel spacers installed for the staggered AMG wheels.

The finish is reported to be free of chips or gravel marks, and the wheels are likewise understood to be without curb rash.

Reading 32,000 km, this AMG GT is described by the seller as having full service history and handbooks. Mercedes-Benz servicing is noted for the first five years, followed most recently by servicing at 24,000 km by IAH Rockdale, where the car is said to have received the new tune.
