The Details:

This 1969 Ford Mustang convertible presents as a striking, right-hand-drive converted example of Ford’s enduring first-generation pony car, finished in custom metallic green over a black interior and black soft top.

The 1969 Mustang marked a more muscular evolution of the original formula, retaining the familiar long-bonnet, short-deck profile, but adopting a wider, more assertive look with quad headlamps and stronger side sculpting.

Built in Ford’s Metuchen, New Jersey plant, this car began life somewhat modestly, with a 250ci six under the hood. It arrived in Australia in 1993 and underwent a rotisserie bare metal rebuild in 2004, with engineering completed in Queensland. It has been in the care of the current owner since 2015, who had it re-engineered in the ACT and in 2017 took it back to bare metal to complete the front half.

It is now powered by a 302 Windsor V8 with four-valve heads and a mild cam, mated to a C4 automatic transmission, and benefits from a proven right-hand drive conversion. During the 2017 work, the engine was given a refreshment, with the seller reporting almost everything serviced or replaced.

Under the hood you’ll also find aftermarket chassis bracing, to reduce some of the inherent flex through the front of the car, as well as an alloy radiator, aftermarket air cleaner and other engine detailing hallmarks.

Finished in custom metallic green and reported to present in show condition, the Mustang features custom “Wild Brumby” side graphics and rides chrome wheels. The cabin features a new digital dash, and is also equipped with an aftermarket electric handbrake. Front seat covers and aftermarket steering wheel add to the retro flair.

The digital dash shows 3,904 km, and the car is reported to have been serviced in 2026 at 3,800 km by Des and Grays Automotive Service. It will be sold with American magazines and a car bra.
