2001 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo - Manual
Fast Facts:
A highly sought after and increasingly difficult to find low mileage, Australian-delivered Porsche 911 Turbo (996) in manual
A handsomely specified car, accompanied by a documented service history with receipts
Upgraded with a performance package from renowned German tuner Gemballa, understood to have been handled by Porsche at a cost of $18,000
The Details:
This 996-generation 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo is a collection-worthy example of the highly desirable modern 911 - a low mileage, well specified Australian-delivered car equipped with the desirable six-speed manual transmission.
Built in October 2000 and complied in January 2001, it is equipped with Porsche’s 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six, all-wheel drive and a limited-slip rear differential. With roots in Porsche’s GT1 programme, the Mezger flat-six has become increasingly appreciated in recent years, proving particularly robust, offering sound headroom for tuning and avoiding the IMS bearing issues that arose in the standard 996 Carrera.
On the tuning note, this car is understood to have been fitted with a Gemballa performance package through Porsche in approximately 2007, which comprises a complete Gemballa exhaust system, performance air filter and ECU tune.
Factory options include stainless steel door sills with logo, aluminium instrument dials, aluminium shift knob and handbrake lever, Park Assist, electric sunroof, draped leather front and rear seats, and coloured Porsche crest wheel caps. The original wheel centre caps have been changed to black Porsche crest items.
This Turbo is finished in understated silver paintwork. Understood to have been garaged throughout its life, this finish is reported to be excellent, and was ceramic coated just ahead of auction in May 2026. The only point of note is that the front bar has been repainted due to stone chips. The black leather cabin is understood to be in similarly good condition.
Showing a modest 38,750 km, the Turbo is reported to be accompanied by all original books, extensive service records, receipts and spare key. We understand it to have been last serviced by International Autohaus barely 1,000 km ago on 31 October 2025 at 37,969 km. Registration is current to 30 November 2026.
A low mileage Australian-delivered, manual 996 Turbo with a documented history, impressive presentation and some considered upgrades, this 2001 Porsche represents an exceptional opportunity and would be equally at home in a curated collection, on the open roads or stretching its legs on the track.
