The Details
This well-presented 1991 Ferrari 348 is a fine example of the brand’s best styling elements of the time, and one that has been uniquely upgraded to Challenge specification.
Built from 1989-95, the 348 was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina who had been responsible for numerous other iconic Ferrari models.
As a result, the 348 blended the straked side air intakes and rectangular taillights that resembled those seen on the Testarossa with stylistic elements from the iconic F40 and other classic Ferrari models.
This particular car first landed in Melbourne in mid-1991 as a standard 348 TB. However, 1993 saw the launch of the single-make Ferrari Challenge racing series for versions of the 348 fitted with a specific ‘Challenge’ upgrade kit.
This 1991 model was upgraded to Challenge specification in 1994 after the kit became available – the example in Australia to be fitted with it – although this car was never raced.
Nonetheless, it benefitted from the fitment of cross-drilled brake rotors, revised height-adjustable suspension, a high-flow exhaust system, 18-inch wheels, a revised body kit, and a more aggressive final drive ratio for faster acceleration.
Currently located on the Apple Isle and having spent 20 years in the care of the seller, this particular car has only travelled 86,242km during its lifetime.
It presents in excellent condition inside and out, with only minor stone chips detectable on the paintwork.
Beyond the fitment of the Ferrari-backed Challenge kit, it has not had any modifications fitted and comes supplied with full service history, with the most recent service completed in August 2025.
