Few classic commercial vehicles carry the same enduring charm as Volkswagen’s first generation Type 2. Introduced in 1950 and produced in splitscreen form until 1967, the T1 became one of the marque’s most recognisable and versatile automobiles, serving as everything from delivery van to family bus, surf wagon, camper and even becoming a counterculture icon.

This restored 1963 Volkswagen Type 2 is presented in right-hand drive, finished in blue and white over a grey interior, riding white painted wheels with chrome hub cans and showing 39,179 km. The body configuration is the familiar passenger bus layout, with split front windscreens, side windows, rear hatch access and bench seating across three rows.

The cabin is finished in grey upholstery with matching door trims and side panel trim, complemented by the simple painted dashboard, white steering wheel and splitscreen forward glass. The rear passenger area is fitted with bench seating, grey side trim and rubber flooring. 

Power comes from a later 1,600 cc air-cooled flat-four, paired with a manual transmission - a common and usable upgrade in classic Kombis.

The seller reports partial service history, with the vehicle having travelled approximately 15,000 km since being redone. Recent work has been completed by Vaucluse Auto and included a new starter, new flywheel and brake work. Some localised paint and rust imperfections are noted and shown in the supplied images.
