With just 25,500 km reported, this 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLK350 is an unusually low mileage example of the marque’s retractable hardtop roadster, featuring the AMG Sports Package amongst a long list of desirable options.

The third generation R172 Mercedes-Benz SLK arrived in Australia in August 2011, bringing considerably more technology to the compact convertible. At launch, the SLK 350 sat at the top of the Australian range, priced from $118,900 before on-road costs and combining the SLK’s folding metal Vario-Roof with the strongest engine then available in the series. 

Said engine was Mercedes-Benz’ new naturally aspirated 3.5-litre M276 V6, using direct injection and producing 225 kW at 6,500 rpm and 370 Nm between 3,500 and 5,250 rpm. This is paired with a seven-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission.

This Australian-delivered example was complied in November 2011 and first registered the following month. Finished in Tenorite Grey Metallic over black leather with contrasting red stitching and red seatbelts, it is presented with the AMG Sports Package, including its five-spoke AMG alloy wheels and more sporting aesthetic treatment.

A particular highlight is its panoramic Vario-Roof with Magic Sky Control, allowing the glass panel to be switched between transparent and heavily tinted at the touch of a button. Magic Sky Control was one of the R172’s headline technologies when new and a first for the SLK. The seller also reports Active Sports Suspension, Distronic, Linguatronic and an iPod integration package. 

With just 25,500 km reported, the SLK has been with its current owner for approximately four years and is said to have been garaged throughout this time. Its service booklet documents Mercedes-Benz dealer maintenance during its earlier life and more regular servicing from 2021 onwards. 

With very modest recorded mileage, a naturally aspirated V6, well-documented recent maintenance and a comprehensive factory specification, this R172 SLK 350 presents as an appealing example of the marque’s well regarded luxury roadster.
