The Details:

Introduced as Chevrolet’s answer to the Ford Mustang, the first generation Camaro quickly established itself as one of the defining American performance cars of the late 1960s. For 1968, Chevrolet further refined the original design while expanding the range of engines and appearance packages available, including the distinctive Rally Sport package with its concealed headlamps.

This left-hand drive example is identified by VIN 124378L312840 as a 1968 V8 Camaro coupe assembled at Chevrolet’s Los Angeles plant. Its Fisher Body tag is dated 11C, corresponding with the third week of November 1967, and records K-2 paint and 726 trim, specifying Tripoli Turquoise with a black vinyl roof and standard turquoise bucket seat interior. It is understood to have been ordered in Rally Sport, or ‘RS’ specification and is finished with the associated concealed headlamp grille and RS badging. 

The vinyl roof has since been removed and a genuine reverse cowl bonnet fitted, while the car remains finished in its original colour combination and the seller reports that details across the car match the cowl tag and VIN. 

Power is provided by a 327 ci Chevrolet small block V8, presently fitted with a Holley four barrel carburettor, polished headers, mild cam and Flowmaster exhaust. The original Rochester carburettor is reported to accompany the car. 

Drive is through a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission and 10-bolt limited slip rear differential. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, power steering, front disc brakes, flip-down rear seat and Rally wheels. 

Showing approximately 51,500 miles, this Camaro has been in the care of the seller for the past six years, who has kept it garaged throughout. It was most recently serviced on 31 August 2026 by AC Mechanics in Mordialloc, Victoria.

The seller notes an issue preventing the vacuum operated front headlights from opening, as well as some minor stone chips in keeping with use, but describes it as a great, reliable cruiser. It is offered with partial service history, a car cover and spare wheel.
