The Details
This Midnight Blue 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (993) is offered in original condition, benefitting from recent major and minor servicing and a well supported history. Updated with a Carnewal RSR exhaust and recent suspension refurbishment and setup by Centre Gravity, it’s a well sorted example of the highly desirable ‘last of the air-cooled’ 911 offered in perhaps its most pure driver’s car form.
This vehicle was originally delivered into the United Kingdom and is currently living in Sydney, NSW. It’s equipped with an air-cooled 3.6-litre flat-six driving the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Major componentry is all original except for the mufflers, which have been updated with the aforementioned Carnewal unit. This part is based on the original Porsche 993 muffler and is interchangeable with the original.
Mechanicals have been well looked after, and the 933 is sold with an enviable service record, continuing through recent years when the vehicle has seen only gentle use.
The most recent work includes a major service completed by Zuffenhaus in July 2023 at 104,501 miles and a minor service carried out in mid-2024 by Philip Raby. A new clutch was installed in 2021 at a cost of £7500, and the suspension was refurbished and tuned by Center Gravity. A new genuine alternator, new fan and shroud, and new leads, points and distributors have all been installed by Porsche Centre Willoughby in 2025.
The car is finished in Midnight Blue metallic paint, which has been well maintained and is protected by a full ceramic coating. The seller notes some minor chips on the bonnet and front bumper bar. The 993 rides 17-inch Cup wheels which are shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
Inside, the Metropole Blue and light grey leather interior has been similarly well preserved and benefits from a full leather treatment. The 911 is equipped with air conditioning and sunroof, factory security system, sports seats with power adjustment, level control system and UK Lux specification tinted windows. Genuine M6 Porsche floor mats have been fitted, alongside a new rear wiper.
The Carnewal exhaust provides an entertaining soundtrack, which does not prove intrusive in the cabin. There you’ll find an updated Alpine DAB/Bluetooth head unit and upgraded speakers if you’d like a change from the magnificent ambient audio.
Original handbooks will be included with the car, as well as a detailed service history and invoices dating back to 2007.
The number Plate NI93NE is not part of the sale, but its purchase is negotiable.
If you were to chat with almost any motoring fan about their bucket list, there’s a very good chance that a ‘last of the air-cooled’ Porsche 911 would be on it. This rear-wheel drive manual example has been consistently well cared for throughout its life and, with recent major work completed, is well sorted and ready to be enjoyed.
