The Details:

This 1999 Maserati 3200 GT is an Australian-delivered, right-hand drive, manual example of the marque’s Giugiaro designed grand tourer. Finished in black over cream leather, it is offered with no reserve, showing approximately 99,855 km.

Unveiled in 1998, the 3200 GT marked a turning point for Maserati, emerging as the marque’s first new grand tourer under Ferrari’s stewardship and proving instrumental in their return to prominence at the turn of the millennium. It combined elegant Italian coachwork with a substantially developed iteration of Maserati’s own 3.2-litre twin-turbocharged V8 in a practical four seater grand touring layout.

Under the bonnet is a 3.2-litre, 32-valve Maserati twin-turbocharged V8, producing a factory-rated 271 kW and 491 Nm and driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. An aftermarket Mille Miglia exhaust system has been fitted to this car along with new intake pipes and rubbers. The seller advises that the car has also been updated with two-way adjustable coilover suspension and benefits from new brake discs, suspension bushes and rubbers.

This 3200 GT is presented in black complemented by staggered aftermarket 20-inch black Pro Drag alloy wheels. Its distinctive boomerang LED taillights were a production car first.

Inside, the cabin is finished in cream leather with contrasting piping and woodgrain trim, including electrically adjustable front seats. Equipment includes air conditioning, power steering, electric windows, Maserati dashboard clock, Jaeger instrumentation and a Pioneer audio system.

The Maserati’s identification plate records VIN ZAMAA38C000001283, with its Australian compliance plate dated October 1999. First registered on 16 November 1999, it now carries Queensland registration GE AGENT.

Original handbooks and a stamped service booklet are understood to accompany the car, documenting servicing through to 28 November 2023 at 93,414 km. The car is reported to be due for servicing and timing chain

The seller notes some wear and mild discolouration of the dashboard leather, a small dent at the bottom of the driver’s door, minor paint fading on the driver’s front quarter panel and assorted scratches and swirl marks..

Offered at no reserve, this 1999 Maserati 3200 GT is a compelling example of the car that brought Maserati out of the shadows of the Biturbo era, reconnecting the marque with its grand touring heritage.
