2007 Audi R8 Coupe

Fast Facts:

  • Benefits from extensive mechanical and cosmetic attention, with records totalling approximately $85,000 spent on the car, much of it within the past two years

  • This car has a memorable connection to film, being the same model and colour as Tony Stark’s silver supercar in the original 2008 Iron Man film.

The Details:

This 2007 Audi R8 is a conscientiously and comprehensively developed example of Audi’s first generation supercar, finished in silver with a bespoke black and orange interior, showing 104,623 km and benefitting from extensive mechanical work and upgrades, many completed within the past two years.

Emerging from the striking 2003 Le Mans quattro concept, the R8 represented Audi’s arrival in the supercar segment. They did so with a confidently developed production car that paired performance worthy of the supercar moniker with everyday usability and an understated but memorable aesthetic, earning widespread acclaim and Top Gear magazine’s 2007 Car of the Year award.

At the R8’s heart is a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre FSI V8 producing 309 kW, mounted behind the cabin and in this car paired with an aftermarket Rob Bliss performance exhaust. The power is sent to all four wheels via Audi’s six-speed R tronic automated manual. Dry sump lubrication, double wishbone suspension upgraded with a fully adjustable Pedders setup and a lightweight aluminium Audi Space Frame chassis round out an impressive performance and handling package.

This Australian-delivered example has received extensive cosmetic and mechanical attention, with the seller reporting approximately $85,000 invested in the car, supported by an extensive schedule of repairs, refurbishment and upgrades. Most work has been completed over the past 18 months, with only around 3,000 km travelled in that time. It is reported to have been serviced alongside each set of works.

This R8’s silver exterior is complemented by contrasting dark sideblades, subtle striping and bespoke two-piece alloy wheels, reportedly manufactured in Germany to a custom design and fitted with low-profile Michelin tyres. The brake calipers are finished in Lamborghini-inspired orange.

Additional cosmetic work includes custom painted engine bay detailing, window tinting, professional paint correction and a ceramic coating applied by Red Plum Automotive. The seller also reports the professional repair and repainting of the lower front spoiler to correct minor scraping.

Inside, the cabin has been extensively retrimmed in black leather with orange diamond-stitched inserts across the seats and door panels, complemented by R8 embroidered headrests, matching carpets and floor mats with orange stitching.

The interior plastics have reportedly been refinished in black, while the steering wheel features Alcantara upholstery and contrasting orange detailing. A 10-inch Kenwood multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and digital radio is also understood to feature.

An April 2025 invoice from VAG Motors documents the replacement of the gearbox’s hydraulic pressure accumulator, electric motor, hydraulic pump, filter, pressure and gear-detection sensors, wiring adaptor and shift-actuator components. Further work in August 2025 included replacement of the clutch plates and pressure plate, release bearing, clutch position sender and associated seals.

Other invoiced work includes replacement of the air conditioning compressor and rocker cover gaskets, together with fresh engine oil and coolant. The seller’s records additionally list attention to the ignition system, transmission solenoids and electrical components, oil sump sealing, front suspension bushes and arms, and a replacement battery.

The seller advises that a pre-sale mechanical assessment and scheduled 100,000 km service were completed on Wednesday 21 October 2026, with the car reported to be running well and without outstanding issues. A faulty rain sensor was replaced during the work at a cost of approximately $1,600.

Acquired by the seller in November 2022, the R8 is accompanied by handbooks, partial service history and a significant collection of service documentation and invoices.

The seller describes the car as presenting in show condition, both inside and out, and reports a noticeable improvement in the car’s shifting and handling courtesy of the mechanical work, with the R8 understood to be driving better than at any prior point in their ownership.

This 2007 Audi R8 benefits from significant maintenance and upgrade work, and is presented in reportedly exceptional mechanical and aesthetic condition. It represents a compelling opportunity to acquire an early example of Audi’s breakout supercar, with little left to do but enjoy it.
