The Details:

This 2009 Ducati 1198 S is a handsome example of Ducati’s race-bred superbike, finished in Midnight Black with contrasting bronze frame. Powered by a 1,198 cc L-twin, it features the desirable factory S specification, including Öhlins suspension, forged Marchesini wheels and electronic traction control.

Introduced in 2009 as the successor to the 1098, the 1198 incorporated developments from Ducati’s World Superbike programme, introducing a larger engine, revised lightweight wheels and sophisticated electronic traction control.

Its liquid-cooled 1,198 cc Testastretta Evoluzione L-twin is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with a dry clutch. Factory equipment includes eight-stage Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Data Analyser (DDA), allowing the rider to monitor and record performance data.

The tubular steel trellis chassis features fully adjustable 43 mm Öhlins front forks, an Öhlins rear shock, and steering damper, with a single-sided aluminium swingarm at the rear. Braking is provided by twin 330 mm front discs with radial Brembo Monobloc calipers, while lightweight seven-spoke forged Marchesini alloy wheels complete the S package.

The aerodynamic bodywork is finished in Midnight Black with a contrasting bronze frame, and the bike rides black Marchesini wheels featuring red rim stripes with a carbon fibre front guard. Additional details include a carbon fibre clutch cover, twin underseat exhausts, aftermarket seat and tinted windscreen, together with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres.

The seller reports five years of ownership and describes paintwork as fair, noting some blemishes and stone chips, while the rider interfaces are reported to be in good condition.

The motorcycle is accompanied by its original service book, reportedly stamped from new, together with a folder of maintenance invoices. The last recorded service was completed on 12 November 2020 at 25,058 km. The bike is registered, and shows 25,261 km.
