This 2002 Jaguar XKR convertible is offered from a 21 year ownership in very neat original condition, with the odometer reading a moderate 52,000 kilometres and a well documented service history retained in the service books. It is fit with the magic 4.2-litre supercharged V8 that makes for a muscular and enjoyable luxury grand tourer.

After six years on the market, 2002 saw Jaguar’s XK range updated with some much appreciated performance upgrades. The XKR retained the iconic lines penned by Sir Ian Callum, seeing some small aerodynamic and trim changes, but its 4.0-litre motor grew into a more powerful 4.2 and was mated to an updated ZF 6HP26 six-speed automatic gearbox. For the handling package, the car received improved springs and dampers, and larger cross vented discs were installed up front with solid discs remaining in the back.

This XKR is finished in Platinum Silver Metallic, which the seller notes to be original and in very good condition, and rides 20-inch alloy wheels. The seller notes some minor bumps and scratches through the car’s life which, along with a headlight, have been repaired to factory standards. There are some minor scratches noted on the front bumper which are consistent with the age of the vehicle.

The cabin is wrapped in black leather with wood grain accents and was fit from the factory with the SS ‘Reim’ dash option. It is understood to be in very good condition, with just some gentle patina present in high touch areas.

The XKR was very well equipped for its time and this example features a premium sound system, climate and cruise control, electrically adjustable heated seats, front and rear parking sensors, electric folding mirrors and trip computer.

This is a low mileage example of the XKR, with the owner averaging around 2,000 kilometers per annum. Tyres and brakes have been serviced during their care and the driver’s side front suspension parts have been replaced.

This car will be sold with its original handbooks and what is understood to be full service history including stamped records and invoices. Work was carried out by Jaguar specialists and authorised workshops.
