The Details

This 1971 Maserati Indy 4700 is a well-presented, original right-hand drive example of what is a rare car to find in Australia.

Named to commemorate the 30^th anniversary of the trident brand’s famous 1939 and 1940 wins at the Indianapolis 500, the Indy was the first new model released under Citroën’s ownership of Maserati.

Produced from 1969-75, only 1104 examples of the Indy were built. Only 364 cars were fitted with the 4.7-litre engine after its 1970 introduction.

Designed by Vignale, this example of the stylish 2+2 grand tourer is finished in blue with a cream interior, and presents in good condition inside and out.

As far as ’70s Italian automotive style goes, it doesn’t get much more prototypical than the Maserati Indy. While survival rates for these cars are good, right-hook examples like this one are harder to come by.
