1971 Ford Mustang Convertible 302 V8

Fast Facts:

A well documented 1971 Ford Mustang benefitting from an older restoration and consistent servicing over the past nine years

Offered in desirable convertible specification equipped with the larger 302 cubic inch Ford V8

The Details:

This 1971 Ford Mustang convertible is a well presented example of Ford’s legendary pony car, benefiting from an older restoration and sold in largely original condition with extensive service history accumulated over nine years with the seller.

Ford’s renowned 302 cubic-inch two-barrel V8 delivers power to the rear wheels via a three-speed C4 automatic transmission. The engine bay is clean and well presented, reflecting a high level of care. The seller reports that the Mustang shifts smoothly and delivers strong performance and effortless cruising, not to mention an unmistakable soundtrack.

The vehicle remains largely true to factory specification, preserving its authenticity and appeal among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Configured in left-hand drive, the car is finished in deep green paintwork accented by chrome brightwork, and rides period-correct Torque Thrust wheels. Panel fit and body alignment is reported to be excellent, and there are no noted signs of rust or serious defects. The vehicle features a power-operated soft top that is reported to function well and have been preserved in excellent condition.

Paintwork presents exceptionally well and retains strong depth and gloss. There are a few signs of wear such as chips to more exposed panels.

Inside, the green vinyl interior presents beautifully, retaining its original layout, instrumentation and switchgear, all reported to be fully functional. The interior of the glove box is understood to be missing.

The Mustang has been in the care of its current owner for nine years and has been regularly serviced through that time. Extensive service records have been accumulated during this period documenting many thousands spent, and will accompany the vehicle.

The matching NSW plates Pony71 will come with the car should it be sold in NSW.

Boasting strong mechanicals and consistent recent servicing, and offered in desirable convertible configuration, this 1971 represents an outstanding opportunity to own an iconic piece of American motoring history. A highly usable classic, it will be equally suited to weekend cruising, car shows, or relaxed touring. The vendor is motivated to sell with a realistic reserve set heading to auction.
