The Details:

McLaren entered a new market segment with the release of their 2020 GT, giving the likes of Bentley and Mercedes a shake-up with a well-equipped grand tourer that remained true to the marque’s performance roots.

At the heart of it all is McLaren’s carbon fibre ‘MonoCell II-T’ monocoque. This delivers the rigidity, safety and exceptional handling of the marque’s more aggressive models at a class leading 1,530 kilograms, while still providing for impressive luggage space in the back and a well equipped cabin - but not a second pair of seats.

Sharing the spotlight is McLaren’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, which received a power increase in this model and in this vehicle is paired with the upgraded Sports Active Exhaust. That’s enough to rip the McLaren to 100 in 3.2 seconds with launch control, and on to 326 km/h, passing by 200km/h is about 9 seconds.

Shifting is handled by a lauded seven-speed dual clutch transmission, and the vehicle is equipped with an active control knob which allows you to access Comfort, Sport and Track modes to tune your drive, ride and auditory experience.

This GT is finished in Kyanos Blue paintwork, one of McLaren’s Elite Finish options, over a Porcelain White interior with additional carbon-fibre accents thanks to the Carbon Fibre Pack. It rides 20-inch wheels up front and 21-inch at the rear.

Paintwork is reported to be in excellent condition, with some minor scuff marks on the driver’s side wing mirror the only item to note. The cabin has been likewise well maintained, and there are no reported faults with controls, switchgear or electronics

Even with those big wheels, the McLaren GT was perhaps most praised for its ride quality and the feeling delivered by its hydraulic steering. Suspension is tuned with Proactive Damping Control controlled by Optimal Control Theory, which uses sensors that seek to understand the road surface and modify the calibration in real time.

This GT was lavishly equipped from the factory, at an additional cost of more than $70,000 new. The premium pack adds a vehicle lift system, front and rear parking sensors, rear camera, power-operated tailgate with soft-close, fully adaptive LED headlights and a 12-channel 12 speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

The luxe package adds a hard wearing soft-grain aniline porcelain leather material called SuperFabric, which McLaren co-developed with NASA, to the luggage compartment, as well as ambient lighting and heated electric seats with memory. An electrochromatic translucent sunroof allows passengers to dim or brighten the cabin with the slide of a finger.

This vehicle has a full service history with McLaren, and remains covered by the manufacturer’s warranty until March 26, 2026 with the option to extend that warranty yearly through McLaren.

A major service was completed on the car recently at 65,000 kilometres, which included fitment of new tyres. The next service will just be a minor service, and is not due until September 2026.
