This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette ‘C3’ coupe is a US-delivered, left-hand-drive example of the desirable ‘C3’ generation muscle car, reported to be equipped with matching numbers Chevrolet ‘L48’ 350 cubic-inch V8 and Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 three-speed automatic transmission.

Refinished in Classic White over a Light Beige interior, this Corvette is from the model’s 25th anniversary year and features 25th anniversary badging and the now iconic fastback-style roofline and rear window that was introduced for 1978. The car rides aftermarket 17-inch Streeter wheels and is equipped with a transparent targa top, which has been fit with new seals.

The repainted Classic White finish matches the car’s original finish, and is reported to be in excellent condition, which is backed up by an eye-catching presentation. Some chips are reported on either side of the door jams, as well as a small paint stress mark on the driver’s side at the rear.

The cabin is understood to be in excellent condition. All door seals have been replaced.

Under the muscular front bonnet lies a 5.7-litre V8, now paired with an upgraded 2½-inch dual sports exhaust system with Hooker headers.

A number of maintenance works have been undertaken over the course of the seller’s three-year ownership. The carburettor has been rebuilt and a replacement water pump and fuel filter fitted, with the spark plug leads and air conditioning also serviced. The seller notes some minor oil drips and raises the rocker covers as the potential source.

New front springs have been installed and all four shock absorbers, trailing arm bushes and upper and lower ball joints replaced. Tie rod ends and wheel bearings have also been serviced and a wheel alignment completed.

This Corvette is offered with a selection of original printed literature including a 1978 Corvette owner’s manual, 1978 Chevrolet Corvette consumer information booklet, and 1978 Chevrolet Passenger Car Maintenance Schedule booklet.
